Workshop 'The Press Club of Decentralization Reform' for regional media

In February, 25-26, 2016, the workshop 'The Press Club of Decentralization Reform' for regional media representatives took place. It was conducted in the framework of 'Working out the way to strengthening local self-governance in Ukraine' project (PULSE) realized by the Association of Ukrainian Cities by support of USAID.
Regional journalists had the opportunity to discuss the topic 'How media affects public opinion' with Zoya Kazanzhy and Yevhen Tsymbalenko - trainers of 'Media Literacy program for Citizens' supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada (DFATD Canada) in partnership with three organizations: The Academy of Ukrainian Press, IREX and StopFake.
The workshop aimed at explaining journalists the priorities of decentralization in 2016, necessary law changes, sector reforms implementing. The improvement of knowledge for journalists in decentralization domain will help them relevantly and clearly report on this topic in media that will encourage strengthening support for reforms by people.
Nearly 80 journalists from regional media, central media representatives, international partner organization and project representatives participated in this event.
The event was organized by the Association of Ukrainian Cities in the framework of 'PULSE' project.
