The memorial "Carriers of Memory. Journalists killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war" has been expanded

12.10.2023

Dear friends!

With the support of our long-term partner, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, AUP has expanded the memorial project "Carriers of Memory. Journalists killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war".

The physical memorial now includes 36 stories of journalists whose lives were taken by the full-scale invasion.

On October 12-13, 2023, the Memorial was presented as part of the National Media Talk in Kyiv, held at the Parkovy Exhibition Center.

We want the public to understand that journalists play an important mission in confronting the aggressor. They document Ukrainian tragedies and share them with the world.

We must be proud of the heroes who died, and above all, we must know them by sight.

Soon we will share with you the obituaries of the fallen journalists of 2023, as well as present the Memorial in three cities of Ukraine: Cherkasy, Lviv, and Ternopil, where it will be on display for a week.

The project was implemented by the Academy of Ukrainian Press (AUP) with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, the German Foreign Office and Civil Society Cooperation, in partnership with the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
