Submissions for the XIII All-Ukrainian Student Creative Writing Contest "I am a Journalist!" are being accepted until March 1. The target audience of the contest is 8-11th grade students of secondary schools, as well as students of vocational schools and colleges. Participation is free of charge. The keyword for this year's contest is indestructibility.
The competition is organized by Vitaliy Holubev, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, founder of the School of Universal Journalist. The co-organizers are the OGO Publishing House, the Department of Education and Science of the Rivne Regional State Administration, and the National University of Ostroh Academy. This year's competition is supported by the Rivne Regional Military Administration (headed by Vitaliy Koval).
As stated in the Contest Regulations, the full wording of the contest theme is as follows: "Telling the world about the invincibility of Ukrainians". Participants can address this topic by talking about the invincibility of Ukraine's defenders at the front, or they can highlight it through examples of volunteer activities, the work of teachers, doctors, energy workers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and all those who, through their selfless work and their invincibility, strengthen Ukraine in the face of Russian military aggression and contribute to our future victory.
The work can be prepared in any genre chosen by the student - a reflection, interview, portrait, reportage, etc. Articles, photos, and videos will be accepted for the competition. Participation is free. Entries will be accepted until March 1, 2023, and the results will be announced and the winners will be awarded in April 2023.
The "I Am a Journalist!" contest has been held since 2009. It was born in Rivne and became an all-Ukrainian competition in 2016. Since then, the winners have been awarded at the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
Every year, the "I am a Journalist!" contest gathers 500-800 participants from all regions of our country. Traditionally, most contestants come from the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. The organizer takes care of the prize fund, involving patrons whenever possible. The works of the winners and participants are published on the I Am a Journalist website at ij.ogo.ua.
