23-24 October 2015 in. Chernihiv Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Academy of Ukrainian Press and Chernihiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education nabed by Ushinski held a seminar "Practical media literacy for Teachers of Social Sciences".
The participants were 20 teachers of history and law Chernihiv and Kyiv region.
Today the media greatly influence our understanding of the world. Therefore, media literacy - the ability to find information and make sure of its authenticity, to separate facts from propaganda, filter information in situations of conflict - is a vital skill in the context of Russia's aggression information. Outreach war of Russia against Ukraine has made significant changes to the content of media education and motivation. So the seminar was focused on how to teach students critical thinking mechanisms and the ability to recognize propaganda and manipulation.
