Memorial "Memory Carriers. Journalists who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war" presented at National Media Talk 2024 in Kyiv

21.09.2024

💔 Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, journalists have been fulfilling the most important mission - informing Ukrainians and the world about the war crimes of the Russian Federation.
👥 While in hot spots, they document Ukrainian tragedies. Journalists are killed, hunted down, and murdered.
The Academy of Ukrainian Press, with the support of its long-term partner, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Ukraine, has created the project "Carriers of Memory. Journalists who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war", where they told the biographies of 46 media professionals who became victims of the military offensive.
🕯️ Its purpose is to pay tribute and express gratitude to those who defended Ukrainians from the enemy with the power of words.
🙏 We want the public to understand that journalists play an important mission in confronting the aggressor. Media professionals document Ukrainian tragedies and disseminate them to a global audience.
We must be proud of those heroes who died, and above all, we must know them by sight.
📍 On September 19-20, 2024, the memorial was presented at the Nation Media Talk #NMT in Kyiv, held at the Parkovy Exhibition and Convention Center.
