On February 6, 2018, the presentation of analytical report “Ukrainian Media Landscape – 2017” took place in the building of National Association of Journalism. The report was prepared and published by the Academy of Ukrainian Press with the support if Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Ukraine.
“Ukrainian Media Landscape – 2017” is the analytical report where the tendencies of Ukrainian media development in 2016-2017, structures and media market are reviewed.
At the beginning of event, Gabriele Baumann, Chief of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Ukraine, emphasized that in her opinion journalism is the fourth power in society that not only informs people but also shapes the opinion and controls what others say, politicians, for example: “We hope very much to continue the activity that makes media outlets more informed, efficient and independent”.
The report was prepared by the leading field experts: Oles Hoian, Tetiana Lebedieva, Oleksii Matsuka, Vitalii Moroz, Oleksii Pohorielov, Serhii Tomilenko, and Andrii Yurychko.
The idea of “Media Landscape” appeared during the “Independent Media” working group meeting (Working group on democracy, human rights, good governance and stability) of the Eastern Partnership Forum in October –November, 2010 in Brussels and Berlin. Media experts from six countries of Eastern Partnership decided that one of the activity priorities is the preparation of analytical reports – media landscapes for each country.
