The Academy of Ukrainian Press (AUP) is announcing the call for participation in a workshop “Media Education Approach to Teaching English as a Foreign Language” among qualified teachers of secondary schools and private language centers. The event will be held on the 16th Dec. 2017 in Kyiv.
Suggested training is purposed to create a network of media competent English teachers who realize the importance of preparing the learning materials in different media formats, can predict the potential impact on students, apply media education technologies while studying the topics, and are inspired to exchange experience with the colleagues.
The proposed training includes theoretical basis, practical tasks, exercises for media analysis, interactive games, cases on the use of media education technologies in different types of language activity, as well as some media tools for teaching English.
Coach:
Artem Ponomarevskyi, capacity building manager, AUP; post-graduate student at the “University of Educational Management” (Kyiv), holding a Master’s degree in language and literature, the qualification of a philologist-researcher, a teacher of English and German languages and foreign literature.
Deadline for submission is Dec. the 5th
Selection will be running on a competitive basis.
Workshop participants will get the certificates from organizers.
Travel expenses and catering for participants will be covered by the event organizers.
