On August 6-8, 2012 the Academy of Ukrainian Press conducted the First forum of higher education teachers with participation of graduates of AUP media education Schools. (2011 and 2012 graduates). More than 30 teachers from pedagogical higher education institutions and oblast institutes for post graduate pedagogical education (who implement media education) participated in the forum. The goal of this event was to intensify the exchange of experience and practical developments within the community of Ukrainian media teachers from higher education institutions. This event was organized in partnership with the Institute for Innovative Technologies and Content of Education of the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, and Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Forum included the following sessions: presentation of special courses taught at higher education institutions and institutes for post graduate pedagogical education; presentation of methodology for implementation of media education as an integral part of other subjects; presentation of new developments in media education methodology; presentation of media festivals, public events, models of out-of-class work, etc. Forum was completed by the discussion of strategic planning issues and barriers hampering the implementation of media education.
