The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES) and the Academy of Ukrainian Press (AUP) have joined forces to promote media literacy and critical thinking among educators and students!
This Memorandum of Cooperation, signed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi and the President of the Academy of Ukrainian Press Valeriy Ivanov, aims to integrate media literacy into the educational process. This initiative will enable students to improve their skills in critical media consumption and countering disinformation.
🔍 What does cooperation entail?
- Jointly organize offline and online events for teachers and students aimed at increasing media literacy;
- Develop and improve teaching materials to help teachers integrate media literacy into the curriculum;
- Conducting research to determine the needs in the educational environment for media literacy and critical thinking.
🌍 Why is it important?
In today's world, where the information space is filled with fakes and manipulations, critical thinking is becoming a key skill. The cooperation between the MES and the AUP has been going on for over 15 years, but right now it will help create innovative approaches to learning, develop educational projects, and disseminate the best Ukrainian and international practices. This means that a new generation of Ukrainians will receive a powerful tool for navigating the modern information world!
Together, the Ministry of Education and Science and the AUP aim to give educators and students a superpower - the ability to think critically and not fall for fake news. Participants will be able to take part in a series of exciting trainings, join the development of modern teaching materials, and most importantly, become media literate superheroes in their schools and universities!
