Bakhmut leaves a depressing impression. The shelling does not actually stop. People are angry. But what's worse, to the traditional accusations, they are adding: "But you are making money on us", "You will leave and we will immediately fly back", are added "You are lying", "Why talk to you, you will not tell the truth anyway". Many do not hide their far from pro-Ukrainian views. This is perhaps the worst.
Naturally, the guys in the trenches have a question: Who are we fighting for, them? However, the same soldier answered this question himself: For those who have left here now but want to come back.
This is another very controversial point. It is virtually impossible to live in Bakhmut. But people stay. And many with children. All my life I have been in favor of free will. That is, a person should decide his or her own fate in general and what to do in a particular period of time. But should this freedom extend to one's own children? Should the state intervene and forcibly evacuate families with children?
Thank you for the professionalism and hospitality of Orest Firmaniuk. It is thanks to such press officers that the truth about the war in Ukraine is known throughout the civilized world! It would be good for all press officers to learn from this experience, when press services are not looking for something to ban, but actually help.
