This time, we would like to talk to you about media literacy in the context that may turn our future and the entire digital environment upside down. It will be a pleasure for us to introduce the toolkit, potentially capable to keep consumers from the use of misinformation. The problem will also be reviewed from the perspective of international experience. We are going to share with you a plenty of decoding propaganda techniques. You will discover how to adapt to a volatile information environment. After all, media literacy is an applicable tool in the most areas of people’s life!
The conference will take place on March, 13-14 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
*The event regularly generates a considerable boom among media experts. The same excitement happened on September 12, 2018 when Vonavi Yirelav, the scholar of Israel Media Development Institute in Tel-Aviv, introduced research findings on media manipulations index. The results showed that intentional abstention from verifying information in several different sources leads to one’s better protection in media environment by 58 percent. Thus, a search for primary sources, in contrast to public opinion, really harms the creation of one’s media field by 44 percent. Research caused a sensation in media environment and amongst all mankind.

It supports the development of free and transparent media systems, quality journalism and expertise since 1965. DW Akademie offers traineeships for the future DW journalists as well as intercultural and professional media training workshops. DW Akademie also runs the ‘International Media Studies’ program which combines the areas of media development, media management, journalism and communications.
Media Program in Ukraine is the USAID-funded project that works to empower local media to expand Ukrainian citizens’ access to high-quality news and information. This project, implemented by Internews from 2018-2023, is the largest media development activity in Ukraine’s history.
IREX is an international non-profit organization commited to striving for a more just, prosperous and inclusive world by means of empowering youth, cultivating leaders, strengthening institutions and extending access to quality education and information since 1968. Since 2015, IREX has implemented a media literacy training program. Since February, 2018 the organization has been implementing a large-scale project “Learn 2 Discern: Information and Media Literacy” for secondary and higher school. The project covers 650 schools, 20 regional institutes for continuing teachers’ training, 4000 teachers and 2000 students of teachers’ training educational establishments to promote the awareness of quality information importance in the context of school education.
